Feel the tropics
Day by day
Feel the Tropics tour, is a 11 days, 10 nights that goes from Manuel Antonio National Park to Monteverde, Arenal Volcano, Tortuguero and San José. The Visit of the Tortuguero National Park will include a boat ride, and once you get there get the feeling of a Caribean Village.
Day 1: After meeting your guide at the airport you will be transferred to your hotel in San José, the capital of the country.
Day 2: After breakfast, start the drive to Manuel Antonio in Quepos. This is located on the central pacific coast. The drive might take 3 hours and a half approx. Once done with the check-in at the hotel, you have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the beach.
Day 3: Today visit the Manuel Antonio national park in the morning. This to enjoy the beautiful beaches and observe some of the many different animals that can be seen there. For this you will take one of the many different trails available. During the afternoon you can take part of the one of the many activities available in the area.
Day 4: Right after breakfast, depart to Monteverde. On the way visit the Pacific Rain Forest Aerial Tram. Lunch will be taken on a nice restaurant along the way. Nice scenic ride down the Pan-American Highway and then up the mountains of the Tilarán range.
Day 5: Morning hike in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, visiting the Hummingbird Gallery after. Afternoon walk at the suspended bridges of Selvatura. After all the activities of the day you will have time to visit the town Santa Elena.
Day 6: After a healthy breakfast depart to the Arenal volcano area. The drive can take around 2 hours and a half. During the afternoon visit the town of La Fortuna. At night visit the Hot Springs.
Day 7: The Arenal Volcano national park holds all kinds of beauties. Lava flows from 1990’s activities, tropical forest, amazing views of the Arenal Lake and others. Take the lava trail for a 2 hour hike in the park. After the walk refresh yourself at the Fortuna waterfall...
Day 8: Early morning transfer to Tortuguero National park. This transfer will include a bus and boat ride to get there. In total might take around 5 hours. Once at Tortuguero get the feeling of a Caribbean village.
Day 9: The best way to know the area and get to see as much wildlife possible is by boat. You will enjoy 2 boat rides at different times of the day and different canals. One in the morning and the other one in the afternoon.
Day 10: transfer back to San José by boat and bus. Arrive to your hotel in San José mid-afternoon.
Day 11: transfer to the international airport for your flight home.
