Day by Day
Day 1: Arrival on own to San Jose, Costa Rica and meet the rest of the group at host hotel.
Day 2: After a healthy group breakfast start your drive to Sarchi town, capital of traditional woodcrafts and Ox Carts. You will
have the opportunity to see one for the traditional workshops, where they produce and decorate what used to be the most
important mean of transportation in Costa Rica for hundreds of years. Right after lunch, continue on to Fortuna Town near
Arenal Volcano, going thru what is consider to be the most productive part of the country. Cattle ranching, sugar cane, oranges, pineapple, papaya, and others are some of the things you will see as you get closer to your hotel that sits very close to the base of the volcano and an amazing place to spot animals and birds.
Day 3: Today you will have the chance to hike one the trails of the Arenal Volcano National Park and experience the impact of last eruptive period that went from 1968 to 2010. Also visit the observation tower and lookout of the lake. In the Afternoon, visit town and then have a sunset session with horses in fields.
Day 4: Today is a day of contrast, you will go from the lowlands on the north part of the country to the highlands
along the continental divide. Drive all around the Arenal Lake to the pint when you start going up the mountains all
the way to Monteverde, a small town in the middle of the Tilaran Mountain Range that was founded by Quakers that
came from the US in the 1950’s.
Day 5: The cloud forest is a magical place, it has this mystic that is very hard to describe...Will walk thru some easy
paths and some rugged ones and several hanging bridges, in order to discover some of the hidden wonders of this amazing forest. In the afternoon, find a good place to work on the sunset session with horses.
Day 6: This is day you go to the pacific coast. It will be a mayor change from anything seen so far. From very humid regions, you will get to much drier parts of the country down by the beach, where you will have you final session at sunset.
Day 7: Full morning and part of afternoon at leisure with lunch on own. Midafternoon drive back to San Jose to get ready for next day flight home.
Day 8: Transfer on own to airport for flight back home.
